Special notes
For whatever reason, this painting is called "French Troops Resting, 1916" on the Imperial War Museum's website, where the painting was sourced from. This made me wonder if it was a slightly different painting, but upon comparing them, they sure seem like the same painting to me, so I'm not sure what happened there. Thus, I went under the name as printed in the public domain book.
